Dug up this invasive, aggressive and quite edible wild leek from the neighbor's yards and made pesto and pickles from it.  Everyone got a jar of each.  When finished, they returned the jars to be filled again with something yummy another time.  Yard to table!  Zero transportation emissions, hyper local, sustainable, and zero waste.

Had a conversation with the neighbor yesterday, who was out pruning, mowing and complaining about the yardwork,  about how beneficial it is to leave your yard a little bit wild for the bees and other little critters.  I also mentioned that the invasive tri-corner leeks that were taking over are edible and the bees like them too.  I made some into pesto last week!  I told them I thought their yard was just lovely the way it is.  Less yardwork for them!  YAY!

Walked to the library this morning to return a book before work.  Got outside time, exercise and didn't burn any fossil fuels!  Wish more places had good walkability.  I feel very fortunate.

This is their land.  They have the deep knowledge of how to live with the land and our governments need to follow their lead, give them leadership roles in relation to environmental issues and agencies.  Give them the national parks to manage and to have back for ancestral, ceremonial purposes.  It is important to me to support these issues, to listen and learn.  To help save the planet, to right the wrongs.  To decolonize my mind and community.

By being informed, reading the prospectus of funds before investing, checking to see if they are on the list.  I will be checking Vanguard for any green funds they may have available.
