It will lower my energy cost, tracks my usage and reduce carbon emissions into our environment.
  • Reflection Question
    Industry Practice the 5 R's
What are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

    Geneva Coffee's avatar
    Geneva Coffee 4/28/2021 9:05 AM
More R's I can add. Re-gift things you don't want but other's may enjoy, Don't have much Rot, Repair items instead of trashing.
  • Reflection Question

Bamboo product is available in my area. I just purchase an outdoor set that is made up of bamboo. In todays world even if bamboo is not available in stores go online. There are other alternatives as well. There are companies out there that will only make product from recycled plastic.
  • Reflection Question
    Industry Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

Take a look at everything you are throwing out. So many od us just throw things in the trash that are recyclable. Try to repair items that break around the house. We live in a world when something breaks it's just easy to trash it and buy new. If we take a minute and see if we can repair things we reduce what we are putting in our dumps.
  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Geneva Coffee's avatar
    Geneva Coffee 4/28/2021 8:34 AM
People in richer countries consume more calories, more proteins per then those in poorer countries. A larger fraction of their protein intake comes from animal-based products, especially meat. Livestock is driven by demand. There has been resent studies on this and it has been found that lower income people everywhere are eating more animal products as well. This is due to their incomes rise above poverty level and as they become urbanized. Eating meat high in fat can increased risk of certain disease's. This also affect our planet by the carbon footprint.

  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste Cooking
In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

    Geneva Coffee's avatar
    Geneva Coffee 4/16/2021 3:31 PM
Use them in a sauce. Just blend the whole vegetable and make a sauce or some may call It crazy. Most gravy/sauce is made from 100% vegetable's. It's very good, and good for your health as well.

  • Reflection Question
    Industry Choose Recycled Paper

  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Mulch the Base of Trees and Plants

    Geneva Coffee's avatar
    Geneva Coffee 4/16/2021 3:23 PM
Locally, fertilizer, pesticides, polluting water. Globally: Nature disaster, Dumping waste in our river's and oceans. How I can help. I pick litter when I see it, mulch my grass and garden. Never poor anything down sink's, or drain's other then soup and water from washing. Never use my garbage disposal.
