I don't throw away peels from veg and fruits. Made an old paint container into a compost bin where I stock all the biodegradable, add brown paper on top to avoid foul smell and holes at the bottom to direct liquid to the soil underneath. Almost to the brim now. Once ready, will use as fertilizer.

When’s the best time to plant a tree? An old friend said it’s 20 years ago.
Me and my family moved in 2018 to a completely concrete paved industrial lot. It was so hot. My boys removed parts of the concrete pavement slowly and created a 9 ft x 5 ft pocket garden of native trees: Kalantas, Narra, Dao, Amugis and Kawayan. 5 years after, temperature is much lower and we enjoy the cool breeze these trees and plants bring in our home. Recently, our family is starting to grow seedlings of Balayong (Palawan Cherry blossoms) to plant and to share with friends who are plant enthusiasts.

When’s the next best time to plant a tree? It is NOW.
