Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally). As an example, a plane from New York to Los Angeles (~2,450 miles) generates about 65 tons of carbon dioxide.

DAILY ACTIONS

Economy & Communities

Buy Used (halt consumerism)

Check this action if you did NOT buy any new products that day. Commit to buying all products USED whenever possible! Other than food, medicine and some toiletries, you can get all other needed products used: electronics/cables, clothes/shoes, accessories, jewelry, luggage, tools, bikes etc. ............................................................... ***INFO*** Products have a HUGE negative impact on the environment. From the environment cleared to make way for planting/mining materials, to factories, to transportation of products around the world. Rampant consumerism has increased exponentially over the past decades. STOP your negative impact by reducing your purchases and buying anything that you absolutely need used!

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION

Check action if 90% of your transportation usage each day is sustainable/low-emission. This includes: walking/running, biking/e-bikes/velomobiles, public transportation, electric/Hydrogen car, carpooling. As much as possible, don't fly or use gas cars. ............................................................... STATS: Road travel accounts for ~75% of transport emissions. Most of this comes from passenger vehicles – cars and buses – which contribute 45.1%. The other 29.4% comes from trucks carrying freight. Since the entire transport sector accounts for 21% of total emissions, and road transport accounts for three-quarters of transport emissions, road transport accounts for 15% of total global CO2 emissions.
