For the first two weeks of April, I need to check in and check off my regular ecochallenge-friendly activities that I have executed daily for years! Then next week tackle those one-time challenges that are more difficult. :)

I have a good friend who was born on Earth Day; I have been speaking with her this month often about all the fun Earth-centric activities in our lives today and how these have evolved since we were kids.

I have a few friends who I think live wholesome lives. They already exemplify the way I want to live. I refer to their posts on social media and learn about issues (veganism), recycling, etc., and take note on how I can incorporate new practices and make new habits in my life.

How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

I make lists in categories that promote work-life balance and that keep me on track. They remind me of my schedule and responsibilities, to buy healthy foods and personal products, reduce waste and recycle, take longer walks, call and write friends and families. I mix up my day so that I feel better and accomplish the tasks on my lists. I can keep up up with home and family while also keeping up the expected work schedule.

Hi, I recycle everything in my household that I can: paper, aluminum, plastic and glass. Since Guilford County where AI live no longer picks up glass for recycling, I drop all of my glass containers from food, beverage and other products at a collection location near Arch HQ. I also choose to look first for used books, clothes, furniture, cars, etc., before purchasing new things. I also give away things I no longer want or use instead of throwing them away.
