Should check out solar panels.  I was not aware that we use so much coal in the production of electricity.

i joined after getting an email from a coworker.  Conservation is frequently on my mind and I want to lessen my wasteful ways.  My daughter has one of her degrees in Environmental Studies so we have had some great conversations about this.  I realize that my personal contribution is not significant, but if we all do our part and place pressures on industry it would make a difference.   I love to be in nature and there is nothing like seeing leaves on a tree or hearing waves crashing into a beach.  I want to sustain that for myself and future generations.
