    Am cooking in small
Proportions and only as needed. This helps in consuming less energy as cooking time is less, and use of less water as cleaning is reduced accordingly.
Am also trying not to use plastic wrap and instead have bought silicon covers.

So far it’s well. Still a long way to go, but taking baby steps in educating myself is refreshing.

Supporting local farmers. I live in a town which was originally farmland. We still have several family owned farms and supporting their business means supporting the community I live in.
  • Reflection Question
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Other benefits include the obvious, which is health benefits, cooking in small portions means food lasts longer this saving on energy, less dirty utensils to clean, which saves water.

It was very informative and an eye opener. Reading this article will definitely empower me to throw or discard with caution and upon spoilage only.
  • Reflection Question
Electricity Support Companies Leading in Green Energy
Every dollar you put into solar or wind is a dollar not put into traditional financial institutions. You'll also be bolstering the fossil fuel divestment movement, too. Name some companies you know that invest in green energy. How can you support them?

I read about nextera.  It is Quitevimpressive. Will see if they provide energy in our area. If so we will definitely look into getting our electricity from them.
