I watched a Chilean documentary called The Grown Ups. It follows a group of adult students with developmental disabilities as they navigate a world in which they do not always have the autonomy they desire. The question is raised, "How do we support adults with disabilities in a meaningful and respectful way?"

Several years ago I came across the Environmental Working Group and their site called Skin Deep - a place where you can research all of your beauty products. Through this website I learned that products from Bath and Body Works can have up to 3000 chemicals used to design their scents. Many of these have not been evaluated by the FDA.

In the past, I realized that taking work home with me only resulted in a slow build-up of frustration with my job and workplace. I also found I would get frustrated with co-workers who had great work-life balance. I have learned that I am the one who is ultimately in control of balance at both work and home. This personal growth and focus and given me more joy in what I do.
