Cindy's Actions
Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG 3
I will replace 30 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Health & Equity
Make Cleaning Products
SDG 3
I will make a few homemade cleaning products.
Health & Equity
Practice Mindfulness
SDG 3
I will spend 15 minutes each day practicing mindfulness.
Climate & Ecosystems
Ecological & Xeriscape Gardening
SDG 14, 15
Studies show a grass lawn is water intensive and on average it require about 30 percent of a household’s water consumption. I will do one or more of the following actions in my yard or community to conserve water and improve habitat: plant indigenous plants, landscape with water-efficient plants, add mulching, replace a lawn, and/or use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Education & Livelihood
Share Your Eco Habits
SDG 11
Through my Earth Month Ecochallenge feed, I will share with others an environmentally friendly habit I have cultivated.
Education & Livelihood
Work-Life Balance
SDG 8
During the workday, I will schedule time for daily breaks during work days to practice work-life balance.
Basic Needs & Security
Practice A Sharing Economy
SDG 1
Each day, I will engage in a sharing economy among my family, friends, and neighbors. A sharing economy is when goods and services are shared between individuals though peer and community networks.

Cindy Abramowitz 4/24/2023 6:24 AMVolunteered with some neighbors yesterday to clean out a shed and wash a bunch of tables and coolers. Everyone brought old towels so we could powerwash and wipe down everything. We all keep old towels to continue reusing them for multiple purposes like this. -
Cindy Abramowitz 4/19/2023 12:02 PMSimilar to Jessica, I try to bunch all my errands in one go so I do not have to make multiple trips for things. -

Reflection QuestionClimate & Ecosystems Support Local PollinatorsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
Cindy Abramowitz 4/12/2023 1:17 PMIt is important to take care of pollinators as there are number of crops that depend on pollination. I do not have a favorite pollinator, but do really enjoy honey from our bee pollinators. -

Cindy Abramowitz 4/11/2023 11:57 AMFor today's sharing, I will be picking up 5 kids from their afterschool activities (which all end around the same time) and dropping them at their homes (all within walking distance of each other) -
Reflection QuestionEducation & Livelihood Share Your Eco HabitsHow do you create new sustainability-related habits or change bad habits?
Cindy Abramowitz 4/11/2023 11:53 AMTo create new habits, make yourself accountable by writing things down and sharing with others. -
Cindy Abramowitz 4/10/2023 10:52 AMDuring my lunch break, I spent time hand-pulling weeds in my yard. Satisfying to see the before and after.
