    I joined to educate myself by learning new ways to help the environment and the world.

    Though my water footprint was lower than the US average, it is still amazing to see how much water I use in a day! I would say my biggest "splurge," if you will, is taking long showers. I will try to reduce the amount of water I use in my showers by turning it off or lowering the water pressure while I wash my hair and/or shave.

    If every person picked up one piece of trash in a day there would be over 300 million fewer pieces of litter. When the sanitation truck comes down my street for the bi-weekly garbage pick up, there are often times that a few pieces of garbage do not all make into the truck ...that is when I will step in (or out) to pick up what is left behind...

    My mom received an appliance as a gift. She opened the box, but never used the product. Since the box was open, it could not be returned or donated. Luckily, when I asked a coworker of mine if they could use it, they were happy to take the product! I feel glad to know that the appliance will be used, rather than end up in a landfill.
